About Us
Mission
Smoky Mountains Chaplaincy’s mission is to be a light in the depth of pain and hope in the day-to-day with comprehensive chaplain care for first responders, veterans, social and healthcare workers, fellow clergy and their staff, and the community as needed.
We aim to be a bridge between traditional congregations, those having an increased need for spiritual support between weekly services, those looking to find a new congregation, and organizations having an event that might need a little extra support.
We will partner with other organizations as needed to ensure our clients get referred to the faith community most in line with their beliefs; and or the medical, mental health, or social services that might better suit their immediate needs outside of pastoral counseling.
As our mission grows, we ask for your support. Your generosity makes our services possible.
SmokyMountains Chaplaincy has established its tax-exempt status with the InternalRevenue Service under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3).
Services:
We provide short-term spiritual support and or pastoral counseling to those who request it. Our goal is to reconnect the client with their house of worship, help mend relationships if asked; and or help them find a new house of worship.
We are available to the veteran, first responder, critical care medical and social workers, teachers, fellow clergy and their staff; facility residential care staff, and their organizations.
We are also available for short-term relief teaching/preaching opportunities for congregations that might not have more than one teacher/preacher at this time. Things such as vacation or short sabbatical relief, sudden illness or family obligations, etc.
For individual or organizational needs outside of that scope, we would refer the client(s) to the appropriate agency.
For example: our chaplains come from the traditional Judeo-Christian philosophy. Should someone from a different faith background (or no faith background) request our services, we would provide compassion and understanding, and get them in touch with a clergy member from their respective faith camp; or an organization best suited to assist them for the long term.
